AALS Can!

Published on November 18, 2009, by

AALS Members — are you collecting your cans?! The attached flier is provided so that you can modify it and use it for your own purposes. What I did was place a large plastic bin in our kitchen area at work with this flier taped to the flap on the top of the bin! My fellow employees have been very happy to place their empty soft drink cans in this receptacle and this is going to help GLRLSP increase the amount of money we get when we turn in our aluminum cans to the recycle center next month! It makes everyone feel great to be able to “recycle” and it’s definitely going to benefit AALS and GLRLSP. Could you do the same thing at your office? at your church? at the kids’ ball game? anywhere that you see cans being purchased and then discarded in the trash is an opportunity for our chapters and AALS to cash in!!

The other thing I’ve been doing is watching for discarded cans along my route to work … I’ve located lots of places where they seem to accumulate. So when I have a few minutes extra, I just park and walk up alongside the road for a block or two and then back down the other side and gather cans as I go. Getting a little bit of extra walking and bending exercise; cleaning up the roadside; and collecting cans for GLRLSP/AALS. It’s all good!
