Good News From the NALS Educational Conference!

Published on March 22, 2010, by

AALS was very well-represented at the NALS Educational Conference in Tulsa last week, and we wanted to share some good news from the conference with you!

In attendance from Arkansas were Shari Straub, Danny Looney, Cheryl Summerhill, Judy Davis, Rita Thatcher, Doris Compton, Linda Adair and Janice Miller.

The Educational Conference was super this year and we wish that all of you could have been there with us! We were especially proud of Arkansas as our members were recognized a number of times during the conference –

* Doris Compton, PLS, PP — installed as the NALS Certification Chair on the 2010-2011 Board
* Linda Adair, PLS; Allison Streepey, PLS; Janice MIller, CPS, PLS, PP; Cheryl Summerhill, PLS; Danny Looney and Mimi Mangrum — all recognized as members of NALS committees this year — and for the coming year
* Cheryl Summerhill, PLS, Janice Miller, CPS, PLS, PP, and Linda Adair, PLS – recognized as certification exam administrators
* Danny Looney — winner of $98 from Region 6 for the highest number of recruits in our Region
* NWALSP — winner of $275 from the Foundation as one of the chapters with the highest increase in membership – they won the draw!
* Linda Adair, PLS — winner of $50 for being the first NALS member to register for the Annual Meeting in Branson, MO this fall
* Cheryl Summerhill, PLS and Doris Compton, PLS, PP — for being NALS lifetime members!
* Danny Looney, Rita Thatcher, CPS, ALS, Judy Davis, Cheryl Summerhill, PLS and Shari Straub — graduates of NALS University (training for State and Chapter leaders)

Just a reminder that the registration form for our Annual Meeting, which will be held April 30-May 2 in Jonesboro this year, was included in the most recent issue of The Informer so be sure you register soon and make your reservations at the Jonesboro Hilton Garden Inn hotel also! Our incoming President Judy, and incoming Pres-Elect Cheryl drove together to and from Tulsa so I know that they have lots of great plans for AALS and the coming year — you won’t want to miss the Annual Meeting to find out what those plans are and where we’re going from here!! :-)

Also, if you’ve not already sent in your $20 to reserve your spot at the Retreat June 4 and 5 (Lakepoint Conference Center, Russellville), be sure you do that pronto! We are limited to 50 attendees and since AALS is going to pay for everything else above and beyond the $20 you send in — this year is going to be very special for all of us!

AALS needs YOU!!

Reminder — do you know what the NALS mission is so that if someone asks you about NALS, you can tell them… ?

NALS Mission Statement – Maximizing your potential!

NALS is dedicated to enhancing the competencies and contributions of members in the legal services profession.

NALS accomplishes its mission and supports the public interest through:
