Message from our new president.
Hello, AALS, this is your Captain speaking. Well, we are now officially on board AALS Flight 2010. What an exciting time we had in Jonesboro over the weekend. To say thank you to the Annual Meeting Committee just doesn’t seem like enough for all you did to make the meeting a great success. You definitely helped to move us into the future. A full financial report and minutes of the meetings will be available soon, but here is some Flight Talk to share:
I extend my personal congratulations to all the winners of the awards that were given on Saturday evening:

- Northwest Arkansas LSP, Chapter Master Gardener and Membership Award
- Danny Looney (White County), Member, Master Gardener

Also, Janet Gordon, PP, PLS, was recognized with the PP award at the Recognition Luncheon on Saturday.
To all the members of AALS, it is a privilege and an honor to serve as your President for 2010-2011 (aka Captain of AALS Flight 2010). I am very honored to serve on your Executive Committee with ladies of such integrity and high esteem:
- President-elect Cheryl Summerhill, PLS
- Executive Secretary Margarett Wilson, PLS
- Treasurer Stacie Givens Allen, PLS
- Immediate Past President Janice Miller, PP, PLS, CPS
- Parliamentarian Janet Gordon, PP, PLS
How lucky can one be to be able to serve with all of these ladies? We will work hard to make this a great year for AALS. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Congratulations and best wishes for a successful year to all of you who have accepted the challenge to board AALS Flight 2010 as a Committee member and/or Chair. A complete listing of the Flight Attendants who were installed on Sunday morning was distributed during the Spring Business meeting and will be posted soon on the AALS website.
For those of you who were unable to be with us at Annual Meeting, we missed you, and hope to see you at our next meeting. If you have not done so already, please send your $20.00 to Stacie Allen Givens, PLS at Mitchell Blackstock Law Firm, P.O. Box 1510, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201-2206 to ensure your registration for Leadership Retreat at Lake Point Conference Center in Russellville, Arkansas on June 4-5, 2010. We don’t want you to miss out on all the fun and excitement that is in store for you. Can you believe $20.00 will pay for your lodging and food on Friday evening and Saturday? The “TOP GUN” school will be full of useful information you can use to help move your chapter into the future with AALS. More details about the Top Gun competition which was announced during the Spring Business Meeting will be forthcoming. If you didn’t receive your passport for this year’s flight, please contact your State Director or local president.
