Legal Assistant/Office Manager

Shults Law Firm, LLP, a Little Rock law firm focusing on civil matters, particularly business transactions and commercial litigation, is looking for a
qualified legal assistant/office manager with at least 5 years experience. Benefits include health insurance (negotiable), paid parking, accrued vacation, paid
holidays, sick leave, and a retirement plan. Salary is negotiable, depending upon experience.

Job Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls.
Open mail and distribute to attorneys.
Provide administrative support to attorneys.
Type and file legal documents with state and federal courts.
Compose routine letters.
Proofread and correct prepared materials for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format.
Monitor deadlines and maintain calendars.
Prepare and assemble materials, documents, and exhibits for meetings and court appearances.
Make travel arrangements for the attorneys.
Determine need for and requisitions supplies, equipment, and repair and maintenance services, including the computers.
Maintain two bank accounts; write checks for firm bills and payroll.
Responsible for sending monthly statements to clients using PCLaw timekeeping and billing software.
Process incoming payments from clients.
Prepare and assemble financial reports to send to accountant monthly.

Job Qualifications:
Proven experience as legal secretary/assistant. Bookkeeping experience desired. Experience with billing software a plus.
Strong computer skills and typing skills, and knowledge of hardware and software applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, punctuation, and legal terminology.
Ability to compose correspondence and reports.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, machines and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently in all aspects of a law office.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Maintain excellent relationships with co-workers and clients.
Ability to multi-task assignments with tight deadlines.
